Srimad Bhagavatam - Summary and Study Guide - Fourth Canto
[...] You have described [in the Fourth Canto] the first manvantara, which was presided over by Svāyambhuva Manu, the son of Lord Brahmā. (SB 6.1.3)
My dear lord, you have described the dynasties and characteristics of King Priyavrata (Canto 5: Chapter 1) and King Uttānapāda (Canto 4: Chapters 8-9).
The great sage Nārada Muni told the history of King Purañjana. This is nothing but the history of King Prācīnabarhiṣat, told in a different way. King Prācīnabarhiṣat was also a Prajapati and was formerly known as Barhisat (see SB 4.24.9 and SB 4.24.11). In other words, this is an allegorical presentation. (From the purport of SB 4.25.9)
