French Fries in the Oven

 For 2 persons

7 potatoes

Sea Salt for seasoning

3 tablespoons of Olive Oil

1 tablespoon Maizena (Not on ekadasi)

1 liter of water

2 tablespoons of (Apple Cider) Vinegar

This is for a De'Longhi E024352. Every oven is different. You just need to experiment.

Boil the water in a water boiler, and transfer into the pan. Add 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar.

Wash the potatoes, and cut them in small pieces like French Fries. Add them in the boiling water and boil for 5 minutes. Throw them in a colander or strainer to remove the boiling water, and put them on a dry, clean kitchen towel (or kitchen papers). Let them cool off for 5 minutes.

Pre-heat the oven, and take a big bowl and prepare the Maizena. After 5 minutes, add the potatoes inside the bowl and add the Maizena. Mix well, now add the Olive Oil. Prepare the oven tray with parchment paper, you can crunch it up in a ball for easier use.

Now add the boiled French Fries, but they must have enough space (no touching). Bake for 5 minutes in the oven and open the door to let out the steam, after another 5 minutes turn them over, and bake them for another 5 minutes, again, open the door to let out the steam, and bake them for the final 5 minutes. So total of 20 minutes (or 15 if you dont want them to crunchy/brown).

Take them out and put in a bowl. Sprinkle salt for seasoning.

Transfer them on a wire cooling rack and let them cool off - read crunch up- for 2 minutes.

Serve with Hellmann's Vegan Mayonnaise.

You can also mix Hellmann's Vegan Mayonnaise, with ketchup and a dash of Vinegar.
