jvalantam sarvato mukham
nrsimham bhisanam bhadram
mrityur mrityum namamy aham
SYNONYMS
ugram - terrible; viram - the hero; maha-visnum - unto Lord Maha-Visnu; jvalantam - eternal effulgence; sarvatah - on all sides; mukham - directions; nrsimham - the Lord, appearing in the form of half man and half lion; bhisanam - terrifying (to the non-devotees); bhadram - the all-auspicious; mrityuh - death; mrityum - death; namamy - bow down; aham - I
TRANSLATION
Lord Maha-Visnu who appears in the form of a ferocious hero, whose spiritual effulgence shines everywhere, half man, half lion, terrifying, all-auspicious Lord Nrsimhadeva, who is death to death personified, I offer my humble obeisances unto You.
