Hummus or Chickpeas Salad

For 2 persons 

Preparation Time: 1 1/2 hour or 12 hours

 Ingredients:

2 cups Chickpeas

1 litre (0.25 gallons or 33 fluid ounces) water

4 teaspoons Seas Salt

2 teaspoons Oregano

2 teaspoons Grated Ginger (optional)

1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

2 teaspoons Ground Black Pepper

2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Soak the Chickpeas for 12 hours (overnight), in nice water. Or boil for 5 minutes then take the pot off of the heat and let the beans sit in the water for 1 hour. 

Remove the water, and add water to a pan and add the Chickpeas and add two teaspoons of salt, bring to a boil, and cook softly for 1 hour.

Remove the boiling water, and add the chickpeas in a bowl (or mixer), add the spices and oil and crush (or mix). You can also leave the chickpeas as they are, and serve as a chickpea salad. Serve with grated carrot, grated red cabbage, salad, mayonnaise, ketchup, yoghurt and (pita) bread.
