Halva (Halava/halvah) - Carob or Chocolate, Caramel, Peanut Halva
For 4 persons
Time: 30 minutes
1 cup (250 grams) of Semolina
1 cup of Cane Sugar
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Sugar
1 cup (250 grams) Peanuts
1 Tablespoon of Coconut oil
1 cup (250 grams) of Butter (or coconut oil (with peanut butter) for vegan)
5 Tablespoons of Cacoa or Carob
1 cup of Milk (or water for vegan)
Take a frying pan and heat the Coconut oil, put in the peanuts and fry them for 5 minutes untill golden brown. Put them aside.
Melt 3 or 4 tablespoons of butter and add the Semolina and fry for 15/20 minutes. In another pan melt 1 or 2 tablespoons of the butter and add the sugar and melt the sugar until it becomes a caramel color liquid. Add the semolina and mix . Add the Milk (be carefull, it will be like a Volcano) and stir, until it's soft. Add the Cacoa or Carob, and Vanilla Sugar and stir it in. When ready, turn off the heat, and add the peanuts.
Serve hot.
